Regional Arts Development Program II (RADP)

About this program:
RADP II is an investment in the vitality, creative potential and long-term sustainability of mid-size arts and humanities organizations throughout Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota as a strategy towards the Bush Foundation’s goal “to support leadership that will create conditions for a vibrant, sustainable and interdependent system of cultural activities that contribute to the well-being of the region.” Grants through this program are long-term (10 years) and non-prescriptive in the use of grant funds.
Purpose:
To strengthen the organizational development and long-term sustainability of quality mid-size arts organizations through a long-term investment in their operations, with an emphasis on long-range planning, organizational self-improvement and accountability.

Eligibility:
This program is open to organizations that meet all of the following criteria:

Are based in Minnesota, North Dakota or South Dakota |
| |
 |
Create, present or serve the performing, visual, media or literary arts or humanities |
| |
 |
Have at least a five-year programming history |
| |
 |
Have an annual operating budget larger than $250,000 but no greater than $5 million during the three most recently completed fiscal years |
| |
 |
Produce, present or develop year-round arts programs for the public, rather than sponsor onetime events |
| |
 |
Have filed a final report on all previous Foundation grants, with the exception of capital grants |
| |
 |
Pay artists a reasonable salary or fee |
| |
 |
Have 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status |
Restrictions:
This program is not open to organizations that:

Exist as a government agency, local arts council, public education institution, library or public broadcasting entity, such as a nonprofit radio or television station |

REGIONAL ARTS DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM I (RADP I)
This program only applies to organizations admitted to RADP prior to November 2004. Current participants should contact Bush Foundation Staff regarding renewal proposals and other aspects of the program.
