Recently University of South Dakota (USD) School of Education Dean Rick Melmer was featured in an Argus Leader article about a push to require year-long residences for teaching candidates at all state universities in South Dakota. Network for Excellence in Teaching (NExT) partner USD was one of two schools to successfully pilot such residencies with its p-12 partner Sioux Falls Schools.
