Findings Released from Prospects & Possibilities Community Conversations

North Dakota’s Prospects & Possibilities findings were gathered through a series of 36 community conversations in 28 communities held between October and December 2010, and include the viewpoints of more than 500 citizens. Convening partners included the North Dakota State University Extension Service, the Consensus Council, the Strom Center and the United Way of Cass-Clay. Briefly, the findings show that North Dakotans:

• Are concerned about the shifting age and rural/urban demographic about the state, including issues related to the oil boom in northwest North Dakota,
• Value high-quality K-12 education and access to higher education, and
• Worry about access to and the cost of quality health care.
