Dee Thomas


Teaching Administrator, Minnesota New Country School

BIOGRAPHY


Dee Thomas is a high school administrator who helped design, develop and implement project-based learning at Minnesota New Country School (MNCS), where she is now the director. MNCS is located in Henderson, a small town in the south central part of the state where Thomas lives, and is recognized nationally as one of the top 10 charter schools in the country. Thomas spent 15 years as a K-12 classroom teacher and has been an adjunct educator at Gustavus Adolphus College and at Minnesota State University, Mankato (MSU-M), her alma mater, where she also served as a mentor teacher.

Dee's expansive experience with the educational issues facing today's schools will be invaluable to the Foundation's efforts to ensure today's teachers are prepared for the challenges of today's classrooms and a diverse student population receives the best education experience possible.
