BIOGRAPHY


Margaret (Maggie) Arzdorf-Schubbe, president of Afton Consultants Inc. since 1990, provides strategic leadership to foundations and nonprofit corporations. She works in concert with private, family and corporate foundation clients to achieve their vision and goals through programmatic funding initiatives, analysis, planning, program management and evaluation.  

In her position as director of the Minnesota Battered Women Program in the 1980s, Maggie worked closely with Bush staff to craft the Foundation’s giving priorities in the field of domestic violence.  The Foundation awarded Maggie a Bush Leadership Fellowship in 1988 to obtain a master’s degree in public administration from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government. 

She began work with Bush Foundation as an expert consultant on violence against women in 1991.  Maggie has provided various consulting services to the Foundation since then, including leading the Foundation’s exploration of its grantmaking in North Dakota and South Dakota focused on increasing the foundation’s effectiveness.  Maggie is currently working on a variety of Foundation projects as part of the Advancing Solutions Team.
