As Talent Development Director, Stephanie leads the Foundation’s people programs and processes — from hiring and onboarding to group assessment and training, individual coaching, career planning and support. She directs the Foundation’s diversity, equity and inclusion work, in close collaboration with the internal Equity Team and the rest of the Foundation’s great staff.
Stephanie came to Bush in 2010 to manage the Foundation’s Teacher Effectiveness Initiative. She brought more than 15 years of experience in Minnesota state government, in the state’s executive budget office, and later as deputy commissioner of Minnesota Management and Budget. In that role, she led a variety of government redesign projects, including agency consolidation, workforce development and IT modernization. The common thread in all of her work has been figuring out how to create the culture and conditions where people can do their best work.
She earned her master’s degree from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government and her bachelor's degree from the University of Minnesota. Stephanie was a 2016 Presidio Cross Sector Leadership Fellow and a 2005 Humphrey Institute Policy Fellow.
