Saint Paul, MN — The Hmong community is defined less by geography and more by an indestructible spirit. Without a country, written language or documented history, we’ve survived. The work of my fellowship will focus on engaging Hmong community members, leaders and organizations to understand how historical trauma has wounded our community for generations and how this contributes to cycles of violence and abuse. Applying a historical trauma framework to the way we work with the community has the potential to heal deep wounds and liberate families and communities from these destructive cycles.
