The current oil boom in North Dakota presents rewards and risks.  We have the opportunity to use the wealth created to go forward in a way that honors our past, ensures present prosperity and creates a future for our children that we can be proud of.  I will use my Bush Fellowship to the study the successful oil economy of Norway, with which many North Dakotan’s share a heritage. I will use that common heritage and our other similarities as developed communities to attract a statewide audience into a conversation about the oil boom where we consider options and ideas that lead us forward.
