Sioux Falls, SD — Native Nations Rebuilders Program (cohort 5) - Verzella was raised on the Flandreau Santee Sioux Reservation and attended Flandreau Public School. She went on to achieve a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Colorado Technical University. Verzella currently works as the cultural outreach specialist for the South Dakota Network Against Family Violence and Sexual Assault. She also serves on the planning committee for the Sioux Falls Diversity Council and enjoys working with tribal citizens in urban areas to help strengthen their connections to traditional ways. Verzella is married with four adult children and 10 grandchildren.
