Fellowships

Investing in people

Through our Fellowship programs we invest in building the leadership capacity of people in the region working on issues that are important to their community and key to advancing work in our focus areas. We currently have three Fellowship programs.

The Bush Fellowship is distinctive in its flexibility, allowing individuals to articulate what they need to become better leaders and providing them with the resources and guidance to make it happen.

A unique learning experience for people who want to build the skills and connections that will help them become more effective leaders. 

Scholarships for individuals from our region to attend national conferences and events. 

Rebuilders is a leadership development program for tribal citizens who want to strengthen their nation-building knowledge and learn how to implement positive changes at their Native nations.

The Ron McKinley Philanthropy Fellowship prepares high-potential individuals from communities underrepresented in leadership positions in philanthropy for careers in the field. Fellows are employed by the Minnesota Council of Foundations and placed at participating foundations for three years.
