The Big Idea
The Council is a state agency that works to promote, preserve and perpetuate the arts in North Dakota. Its nationally recognized Art for Life Program utilizes folk art, and other arts, to improve the physical and emotional lives of citizens, particularly the state’s growing elderly population. By bringing Arts for Life to eldercare facilities, it builds stronger connections between residents, the care facilities, artists, local arts organizations and the broader communities. It is just one example of how the Council uses the power of the arts to enhance the vitality of North Dakota.
