Minneapolis, MN — For further indigenizing, or bringing under control, Crisis Intervention Teams in Indian Country by integrating existing assets, strengths, cultural values and practices in the Native communities to improve the safety, health and well-being of the Native population
The Big Idea
The Barbara Schneider Foundation believes that conversations at the community level can lead to more culturally relevant mental health crisis services for Native nations and communities. A series of trust-building conversations will take place across the region. Local law enforcement, healthcare providers and individuals could then be better prepared to develop action plans that promote community wellness and reflect cultural values.
