Duluth, MN—Conduct a Family Freedom School Initiative to increase awareness and build capacity of Duluth's African American community to address institutional barriers and structural policies of race impacting their lives

The Big Idea

Community Action Duluth’s Family FREEDOM School Initiative draws inspiration from 1960s civil rights curriculum to engage local multigenerational Black families. The initiative wants to strengthen families through educational opportunities designed by community members to address institutional racism, privilege and social isolation. Grandparents, young families and their children will be invited to organize and implement the Family FREEDOM School Initiative.
