The Big Idea

The Oceti Sakowin Power Project is an unprecedented network of seven Native nations that share geography with South Dakota. Tribal leaders organized the groundbreaking partnership to develop their wind resources and respond to the region's high unemployment and poverty rates. Oceti Sakowin Power Project hopes to finance and operate wind power facilities across their reservations that provide tribes with energy resources and job opportunities.
