In recognition of winning a 2014 Bush Prize for Community Innovation, this grant will advance this organization's charitable purpose
Changes because of the Bush Prize
Utilizing the Bush funds has allowed DVCC to attend necessary trainings to expand on the services provided to victims and their families. We must continue to implement new, innovative ideas, many of which are shared at conferences and appropriate training sessions.
Impact on your field
The bonus that was shared with staff has created an attitude of awareness of the difficult work that has been done with the greatest possible care and pride. When the staff sees that management is aware of the hard work and the success of the clients, it gives the motivation to continue with going that extra mile.
Goals for Bush Prize funds
The goal with the Bush Prize funds is to increase the innovative practices that will allow DVCC to develop and expand on the services and support for victims in need. The board training was instrumental in creating a board that better understands their active roles in the guidance of a successful agency.
Use of Bush Prize funds so far
The Prize funds have been utilized towards board development trainings, creating an agency sustainability plan (an active, living plan), bonus wages for staff and management trainings.
Plans for remaining Bush Prize funds
The grant funds that are left will be used for additional trainings and development of additional practices for the agency.
