Molly Matheson Gruen joined the Bush Foundation in 2011 and is currently the Program Operations Director. Molly wants to see the Bush Foundation do the most possible good with the resources that we have. She partners with staff to consider how our grantmaking practices, evaluation efforts and use of technology can maximize the positive impact we can have as an organization.
Prior to this role, Molly created and co-directed the Foundation's Community Innovation programs. The programs fund problem-solving projects that make the region better for everyone. Before joining the Bush Foundation, Molly spent 12 years working with nonprofit organizations including HIV/AIDS service organizations, a meal delivery program for people with chronic and progressive illness and multiple international development organizations. She has also been an adjunct professor at St. Thomas University, where she co-taught a class about community action and social change. She is currently on the board of the Minnesota Council of Nonprofits.
Molly and her partner, Eric, love being parents to Magnolia and Josephine. Molly dabbles in gardening, photography and other attempts to create art and beauty at their 1907 house in the Central neighborhood of South Minneapolis
