The Bush Foundation seeks to fund school intermediaries with a promising or proven approach to implementing individualized learning in schools, and a track record of working with K-12 schools to incorporate that approach.

Ecosystem Grants

Ecosystem grants provide general operating support to organizations working within our program and strategic initiative areas that other organizations rely on to:

  • Provide critical data and analysis.
  • Spread great ideas and build capacity.
  • Advance public awareness and policy.
  • Build and support leadership networks.

Event Sponsorship Grants

We look to support a limited number of events that offer inspiring, engaging programming; equip people with knowledge or skills to effectively lead change; and facilitate interaction among participants.

We also consider whether events are inclusive of people from different backgrounds; have clear takeaways for participants and goals for measuring success and reach an audience that could benefit from our grant and Fellowship programs.

Application deadline for Round 2: May 31, noon Central.

School Design for Individualized Learning

An education design experience that will inspire, equip and connect educators who want to reimagine the purpose and structure of school. We are now inviting schools to participate in our second cohort during Spring and Fall 2018, and we are also accepting applications from schools that participated in the first cohort in 2017 for Individualized Learning School Design Grants via 2Revolutions through May 2018.

North Dakota and South Dakota Change Networks accept applications April 1 - May 31, 2018.

Minnesota Change Networks accept applications May 1 - June 15, 2018.

Event Scholarship

Salzburg Global Forum for Young Cultural Innovators

October 16 – 21, 2018 | Salzburg, Austria

The Young Cultural Innovators (YCI) Forum is designed to nurture the current generation through capacity building, mentoring, and global networking. The network is multi-disciplinary and encompasses creative disciplines ranging from the visual and performing arts, literature, and cultural heritage, to foods, fashion, architecture, and design. It combines theory and practice, with keynote presentations focusing on big picture issues facing the cultural sector and with skills-building sessions on communicating value; principles of self-organization; cross-sectoral collaboration; and leadership and values.

Eight selected applicants will receive a full scholarship to participate in the YCI program, including the session fee, room and board, and travel costs. Application deadline June 18, 2018.
