This grant supports the development and launch of the Oglala Lakota Structural Fire Department, which will be the first community-led structural fire department to serve the Pine Ridge Reservation. In addition to bringing firefighting services to life, the Fire Department will collaborate across Pine Ridge to develop better-coordinated emergency services and to deliver fire prevention education.
