The South Dakota Education Equity Coalition will develop and test a new model for organizing communities and building partnerships in South Dakota to amplify Indigenous voices and raise up the critical needs of Native students. This 5-year project will include community education and training, network strengthening and capacity building to support change across jurisdictions and at multiple levels. The ultimate aim of this work is to address long-standing education disparities and promote Indigenous self-determination by supporting leaders to advocate for their communities.
