Brendon Reay

Managing director of investments

Brendon is the managing director of investments for the Bush Foundation. He provides strategic and day-to-day leadership for the investment and asset allocation strategies that support Bush’s organizational purpose.

Brendon helps ensure that Bush can meet its financial and strategic goals in the near and long term. With the investments team, he provides portfolio oversight and investment manager due diligence, selection and monitoring. He serves as a member of Bush’s management team.

Brendon joined Bush in 2025. He has extensive and diverse experience, most recently having served as the chief investment officer and chief financial officer at the Maine Community Foundation, where he managed $850 million in assets.

Brendon also worked at several hedge funds throughout his career and got his start in investments at Cambridge Associates. His other experiences include being a professor of the Classics at Wellesley College, a fishing guide in Alaska and a member of the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve.

Brendon and his wife, Caroline Bicks, have two adult kids, Annabel and Jonah, and a rescue hound named Chuck. He keeps busy fishing, cooking, reading and spinning on the Peloton.
