As Communications Officer at the Bush Foundation, Emily promotes the Foundation’s grant opportunities and shares inspiring stories of our grantees to help spread great ideas. She is the editor of bMag, the Foundation’s annual magazine, and leads strategic communications for the Community Innovation program. Emily joined the Foundation in 2017 as a Communications Program Manager.
Emily started her career in Washington, DC in nonprofit communications, development and project management. Her career path has led her through adventures like bringing European diplomats into the American Presidential transition, conducting undercover seafood fraud research, and launching a Jewish summer camp, as well as volunteering with organizations in Thailand and Mexico.
Prior to joining the Foundation, Emily served as Communications Manager at Planned Parenthood Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, where she focused on strategic communications, event and multimedia production, diversity/inclusion and patient experience initiatives, and bringing patient stories to life across communications channels.
In her free time, Emily loves to travel, dance, read, hike, and get hygge during the long Minnesota winters.
