Waubun, MN—Native Nations Rebuilders Program (cohort 6) - Lorna LaGue has spent most of her career where she was born and raised—the White Earth Reservation. She is currently leading the implementation of the White Earth Nation’s new constitution.
Onamia, MN—Native Nations Rebuilders Program (cohort 6) - Melissa grew up on the Mille Lacs Reservation in central Minnesota. In college, she developed a passion for learning and teaching the Ojibwe language.
Bemidji, MN—Native Nations Rebuilders Program (cohort 6) - Raised in Bemidji, Minnesota, Nicole belongs to the Leech Lake Pillager Band of Ojibwe. She is a community organizer but, most important to her, a wife and a mother.
Cloquet, MN—Native Nations Rebuilders Program (cohort 6) - Vanessa has served as a police officer for the Fond du Lac Band for the past eight years. She also works part-time for Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College as a school resource officer.
Cloquet, MN—Native Nations Rebuilders Program (cohort 6) - Veronica lives on the Fond Du Lac Reservation, currently works in the tribal scholarship office.
Isle, MN—Native Nations Rebuilders Program (cohort 5) - Adrienne works as the Ojibwe language teacher and curriculum coordinator at the Mille Lacs Band Anishinaabe Izhitwaawin.
Bemidji, MN—Native Nations Rebuilders Program (cohort 5) - Curtis’s father is Charles Buckanaga of the sturgeon clan from the village of Pine Point on the White Earth Reservation, and his mother is Carol White of the bullhead clan from the village of Sugar Po
Cloquet, MN—Native Nations Rebuilders Program (cohort 5) - David was recently elected to his nation’s Tribal Council, representing the district of Sawyer. David has lived and worked on the Fond du Lac Reservation his entire life.
Cass Lake, MN—Native Nations Rebuilders Program (cohort 5) - Gordon is a proud father and husband, committed to the traditional ways of Anishinaabe. He lives his life to make our ancestors and relatives proud.
